Summary
As the third day of fighting draws to a close, it is now clear that General Meade will be victorious and the Rebel army is becoming desperate. Lee’s army has been divided and as Meade’s troops receive reinforcements, the Union troops engaged the Confederates for most of the day. In the afternoon the Confederates, under Gen. Ewell, resurged and the fighting became intense.
