Summary
Proprietor of Valley Register and family flee Middletown on arrival of a rebel group, returning from Harrisburg, PA, by way of Baltimore with Federal troops; Middletown without mail service, and newspaper reduced to half sheet. Claims the rebels were "invited here and set upon" the proprietor by S. D. Riddlemoser "and a few others of a like infamous character."
