Recruiting in Maryland

Summary

Recruiting progresses in Maryland. Recruiting stations are in Frederick and elsewhere in county. Several companies in progress of formation at Hagerstown, with about 100 recruits obtained. Captain McKillip from Westminster arrived in Baltimore with 104 volunteers from Carroll County. First Baltimore Battery of Light Artillery, raised by Captain Alexander, includes 75 men from Washington County and 50 from Carroll.
