Summary

Seven or eight prisoners brought into city on Wednesday evening and put in the Athenaeum. They were captured near Warrenton, Hardy County. Capt. Umbaugh, who had a commission from Gov. Letcher to raise a guerilla company, collected 20 or 30 men near Warrenton. A detachment from the Maryland Home Brigade was sent to find the party.
