Sale of Condemned Horses

Capt. J.C. Crane, Asst. Quartermaster, Frederick, has sold at public sale 114 condemned Government horses and has still to sell 650 horses and mules.

SALE OF CONDEMNED HORSES
On Monday, notwithstanding the heavy rain, Capt. J. C. Crane, A. Q. M., U. S. A., sold at Public Sale, near this city, a lot of Condemned Government horses. There was a large attendance of purchasers, and prices ruled fair to high. – One hundred and fourteen horses were sold on Monday at prices ranging from five to sixty six dollars each. There are still upwards of 650 horses and mules to sell. The rate was renewed yesterday and will continue from day to day, until all are sold.
