Worthington G. Snethen

Summary

Worthington G. Snethen, a native of Liberty District is gaining attention for his political notoriety as a delegate to the Radical convention in Cleveland.

Transcript

This Honorable gentleman who __ suddenly acquired an unenviable sort of notoriety by assuming to represent Maryland in the Radical Convention which met a short time since in Cleveland, we understand, is a native of this county, having been born and educated in Liberty District. In as much as it has been the custom immemorially to give the birth-places of distinguished personages a conspicuous place on the page of history, we hope Frederick county will be elevated in due time to the niche she deserves on the scroll of fame. In addition to the honor of serving in the capacity of a representative in the Convention, Mr. Snethen had the further honor of being a member of the Committee appointed by the Radicals to apprise the Path-finder of his nomination.
