Union Men of Frederick County

Summary

Urgent call for Union men to vote for the Convention and all Union candidates in order to end slavery in MD.

Transcript

Union Men of Frederick County.
On Wednesday next, the question of voluntary Emancipation in Maryland will be decided at the ballot box. Voters of Frederick County, are you prepared to meet the issue? Shall Maryland be redeemed from the blight and curse of slavery? We trust your decision will be in the affirmative; but to accomplish this an effort must be made. The opponents of the Government are plying every energy to rally their strength for the contest, hence the duty incumbent upon the loyal to be up and doing. Let no Union man stay at home on the Election day under the plea that his vote will not be needed to secure the victory. It is the imperative duty of every one, having the interests of his country at heart to go to the polls, and rebuke the growing insolence of sneaking traitors, by casting their votes for the Convention and the entire ticket without the erasure of a single name! Union voters of Frederick county, turn out in your strength on the sixth day of April and teach Rebels, both at home and abroad, that Maryland is resolved upon a course consistent with her obligations to the Federal Government. Do this and the satisfaction of having discharged your duty in this dire hour of peril, will be yours to enjoy when success shall have crowned your efforts.
