The Election
Summary
Editorial stating that there is only one party which can be supported in the upcoming election, the Unconditional Union Party and that people should not countenance the fragmentary opposition which calls itself "Conservative" but is really the repudiated Copperhead party. The political importance of a full Union vote cannot be overemphasized, so that even minimal support for the Conservatives isn't visible. A vote for the Unconditional Union party will "vindicate the escutcheon of Maryland from the TAINT OF TREASON."
