Consistency
Summary
Editorial discusses the inconsistency of Charles Cole, editor of the Maryland Union newspaper. He is a member of the Unconditional Union Central Committee and therefore sworn to support their candidates, but instead he promotes Maffitt for Comptroller of the Treasury, the nominee of the "Conservatives." Cole insists in his paper that Maffitt is the candidate of the "regular" Union party. "Isn't the editor of the Maryland Union a jewel of Consistency?" says the Examiner.
