Raising a Flag
Summary
A new flag and staff has been erected at the U.S.A. General Hospital in Frederick. A group of "Old Defenders" from the War of 1812 participated in the ceremony marking the event and they were escorted by two companies of the Potomac Home Brigade commanded by Capt. Whittier. Rev. Mr. Creaver gave a stirring address and afterward there was a meal prepared by the convalescent patients and hospital stewards.
