Resolutions of Respect and Condolence
Summary
At a meeting, the men of Co. H, 1st Regiment Maryland Volunteers expressed their respect and condolence for the loss of their comrade Sgt. G. McGinnis. A letter with their "resolutions" was written from their encampment at Rappahannock Station on Aug. 17, 1863. The men mourn his death but feel his Christian faith offers him eternal happiness. They ask that their condolences be transmitted to his family and also published in the Baltimore American and Frederick Examiner.
