Summary
Assistant Adjutant General Creswell received the list of the 259 men from Frederick Co. who were drafted. The article lists only the names of those who were exempted for various reasons as well as the names of those who got substitutes. It gives the names and residences of the substitutes. Some of the substitutes are listed "of Germany." Wm. Mahoney, Commissioner of the Draft, left Frederick with some of the conscripts and it is expected that more substitutes will be presented and accepted in the next few days.
