Col. Kenly's Regiment

Summary

A recruiting office is opening up in Frederick City and possibly Emmitsburg to fill the depleted ranks of the 1st MD Regt., Col. Kenly's command. About 6-8 men are needed to fill Co. H, that of Capt. B. H. Schley. Less than 400 are needed to fill the entire regiment which has gained fame for its heroism at Front Royal. There is news that the members of the regiment currently imprisoned are to be exchanged. New recruits will receive "the bounty offered by Baltimore city."
