Recruiting

Summary

Lieut. C. S. Knodle has opened a new recruiting office in Hagerstown for the 7th Regiment Maryland Volunteers and is soliciting recruits. Robert C. Thornsburg has opened an office and is recruiting a company for Major Cole's Cavalry. Now is a good time to enter the service as "very liberal bounties" are being offered. The governor does not yet know the quota required for the state but the time is expiring for the payment of bounties and the volunteers will not exceed the quota.
