Capture of Guerillas
Summary
A report on the capture of several guerillas in the mountain near Leesburg by a cavalry detachment under Maj. Cole. The guerillas had captured three sutlers' teams near Hyattstown. Nick Dorsey was the leader of the guerillas. After a sharp fight, Cole's men succeeded in killing two guerillas, capturing eleven and obtaining 26 horses. One of those captured was Nick Dorsey, also John O. Crown who formerly worked as a printer at the Frederick Herald, and several others from Washington Co. Those captured were sent to Harper's Ferry and then to Fort McHenry. [from Fred. Examiner]
