Capt. Knode's Cavalry Company
Summary
Capt. John G. Knode, of Hagerstown, and Lt. Irwin, of Boonsboro, are raising a cavalry company in Washington County and have between 60 and 70 volunteers at present. A few more members will allow them to organize and take the field. The public is reminded that Washington Co. has so far met all the demands of the Federal government for soldiers and has not had to resort to conscription.
