Summary

Ambulances are moving the wounded from the temporary hospitals near the Antietam battlefield to Frederick, Washington, Hagerstown, Harrisburg, Chambersburg and Philadelphia; some remain at Sharpsburg, Keedysville and Boonsboro.

THE WOUNDED – The wounded at the last battle at the Antietam creek are __________ hospitals in the vicinity of the battlefield to Frederick and Washington in one direction, and to Hagerstown, Chambersburg, Harrisburg and Philadelphia in another. The ambulances are constantly moving over the various roads leading to and from the neighborhood of the recent engagement, carrying the mangled heroes to the comfortable quarters assigned them by Government. There are, however, still a number of wounded let in temporary hospitals at Sharpsburg, Keedysville, Boonsboro’, and intermediate points between these places.
