A Large Enthusiastic County Mass Meeting
Summary
At a mass meeting of Washington Co. citizens, several resolutions were adopted, calling on the County Commissioners to establish a fund for bounties to volunteers, and in support of the tougher oath of allegiance to be required of all citizens. Leaders included Capt. Elias Davis, G.W. Anderson, Samuel Emmery, J.D. Bennett and B.F. Cronise.
