Shooting of Mr. Wharton at Washington
Summary
Jesse B. Wharton, a prisoner in the jail at Washington, was shot and killed by a guard. He was the son of Dr. John O. Wharton and nephew of the Hon. John Thompson. His wife is the daughter of Col. Whiting, US Army. He was buried in Hagerstown.
