A Rebel Raid

Summary

A large number of Confederate cavalry crossed the river at Seneca Creek last Saturday, captured a wagon train, damaged the B&O Railroad near Sykesville and Marriottsville and then occupied Westminster for a night. On June 17 (1863) Confederate guerillas crossed the river at Point of Rocks, captured a home guard force and burned a train of twenty-two cars.
