The Union Convention of Washington County nominated the following candidates for state offices: for Senator, Joseph F. Davis of Hagerstown, who subsequently declined the nomination; for House of Delegates, Capt. E.F. Anderson of Hagerstown, Henry S. Eavey of Boonsboro, Henry S. Miller of Williamsport, Frederick K. Ziegler of Leitersburg, and B.F. Cronise of Sharpsburg.
