Provides an account of the Battle of Monocacy, activities of the Confederates in Baltimore County and its threat against Washington, D.C. Also announces the Union’s recapture of Martinsburg, a Confederate raid on Duffield’s Station, and Mosby’s July 4 (1864) raid on Point of Rocks.
