Return of the Marylanders
Summary
According to the Philadelphia Telegraph, five Marylanders from Frederick crossed the river at Edwards Ferry and surrendered to Union forces under the President’s recent Amnesty Proclamation. Confederate General Bradley Johnson had induced the five to join while at Frederick in July 1863.
