There will be a meeting held at the Union School House in Mt. Pleasant at 1 o’clock a. m., on Saturday next, August 9th for the purpose of organizing a new HOME GUARD Company, and for the transaction of other business. Let every lover of his Country in the district be present. We have a cunning, treacherous enemy constant[?] with, let us be ready for most any circumstance[?]; we have homes and families, let us prepare to protect and defend them. The war is upon us ___! To arms, patriotic freemen of Mt. Pleasant! By order of the officers of the old company.
