American Flags

Summary

The Examiner acknowledges flag sent by Smith News Depot and Variety Store, Frederick, and urges its readers to testify their loyalty to the Federal Union by buying flags there.

Transcript

Mr. D. F. Smith, of the News Depot and Variety Store, N. Market St., opposite Junior Hall, has sent us a very handsome National Flag of American bunting, and in requital for the courtesy, we would inform the public that he has just received a generous assortment of Star Spangled banners, of all qualities and sizes, from which those desiring to testify their loyalty to the Federal Union – the ark of Civil and Religious Liberty – on the coming National Anniversary can make timely selections. Last year Smith sold upwards of a thousand flags in a day; and the demand seems greater now.
