Summary

The Banner of Liberty reports that James Steele tore down an American flag at Paradise School near Liberty and hopes that Capt. Faithful or Gen. Wood will do something about it.

Transcript

We are told that another insult has been offered to the American Flag and to the Union men of this district. It is said that on Sunday last, Mr. James H. Steele, of political weathercock notoriety, saw fit to tear down an American Flag that was suspended from Paradise School house, a place about six miles from here. This is what we call a scurrilous and ___ act, and one that could not be perpetrated in this place without serious results. If the case is not attended to by Capt. F____ or General Wool it will be a wonder to us. – Banner of Liberty.
